Italian minister Paolo Zangrillo has urged Genoa to hold on to Tottenham Hotspur target Radu Dragusin until the end of the season.

Tottenham are on the cusp of signing the 21-year-old defender from Genoa in the ongoing winter transfer window.

The north London club have a deal worth €30m in place with Genoa for the defender’s move to the Premier League this month.

The Serie A outfit are on the verge of selling him but Paolo, Minister for Public Administration in Italy and the brother of Genoa president Alberto Zangrillo, believes the club should hold on to him until the summer.

He stressed that his brother will do what is good for Genoa but feels the club would get the same amount of money for Dragusin if they sold him at the end of the season.

Paolo said on Rai Radio1 (via Tutto Mercato): “From now until June, I would frankly keep him with us; I would absolutely keep him until the end of the season.

“I also told my brother, who however is very cautious and said that any decision would be good for Genoa.

“If it is true, as the newspapers are writing, that they are offering €30m for him, they will do the same in June too.”

Dragusin has already decided to leave Italy and his agents are expected to be in London soon to sort out his move to Tottenham.
