Leeds United are set to step up on their efforts to bolster their defence with Burnley’s Connor Roberts and Bournemouth’s Chris Mepham on their radar, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The Whites require at least one defender after the club decided to move on Djed Spence and Luke Ayling this month.

Spence has returned to Tottenham Hotspur and is set to join Genoa on loan while Luke Ayling will be joining Middlesbrough on loan.

Daniel Farke wants to add to his defensive options in the ongoing window and Leeds are looking at options in the market.

It has been claimed that the club are set to press the accelerator in their efforts to bring in additions.

The club are looking at several options and are likely to shop at Premier League clubs for solutions.

Burnley’s Roberts and Bournemouth’s Mepham are two players Leeds are considering moving for at the moment.

Both players have been bit-part players at their respective clubs in the ongoing season.

A move to Leeds could appeal to both in the middle of the season, especially as they would be joining a side hunting promotion.
