Fenerbahce star Michy Batshuayi has been offered to Rangers, but the Gers will not chase a deal now due to the Belgian’s high wage demands.

The 30-year-old centre forward joined Fenerbahce in the summer of 2022 from Chelsea.

Last season, Batshuayi scored 20 times for the Turkish outfit in all competitions, but this season he has played a more reduced role in Istanbul.

Rangers are in the market for a striker and the Scottish giants have been linked with several players in the ongoing window.

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Batshuayi has been offered to Rangers and he is on the Gers’ list of possible options.

However, it has also been suggested that, due to Batshuayi’s huge salary, Rangers have no solid intention to proceed with a deal.

The forward’s contract with Fenerbahce is set to run out in June 2024 and he earns €3.5m per year.

At present Rangers consider that sum to be too high and are not minded to make a move for Batshuayi.

The Gers though will likely see if the situation changes.
