Brighton are not in the race to sign Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic in the ongoing winter transfer window, it has been claimed in Italy.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from Udinese in the ongoing transfer window.

Serie A giants Napoli are pushing hard to get their hands on the Udinese star as they look to bring in midfield reinforcements.

Juventus are also in the mix and there are suggestions that Brighton are also looking to take the player to the Premier League this month.

But according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, the Seagulls are not interested in signing the player in the ongoing window.

It has been claimed that there has been zero to minimal contact from Brighton’s end with regards to wanting to sign Samardzic.

Brighton are not interested in signing a midfielder at the moment and they have other priorities in the market.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side are looking at signing a left-footed winger, a left-footed central defender and a deep-lying playmaker.
