Everton have suffered a transfer blow in their pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, who is set to join Sevilla on loan, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has sparingly used the midfielder this season and the club are open to offers for him in the winter window.

Mejbri has been studying loan offers from several clubs both from England and abroad before taking a call.

The midfielder recently reached a verbal agreement to join Spanish side Sevilla, but he also had an offer from Everton in the Premier League.

But it has been claimed that Sevilla are now on the verge of signing the Moroccan midfielder on loan from Manchester United.

The Spanish club have been pushing to get the Manchester United midfielder in their ranks on an initial loan deal.

The agreement between Sevilla and Manchester United is also expected to include an option to buy and a buy-back clause.

Everton were interested in the player but it seems the midfielder is now on his way to Spain on an initial loan deal.
