Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana is due for a medical at Burnley ahead of joining the Turf Moor outfit in the ongoing winter transfer window.

The 21-year-old striker spent the first half of the season on loan at Union Berlin and scored just once in 12 Bundesliga appearances.

Chelsea have cut short his loan stay at the German club and he is on the cusp of joining another team this month.

Burnley have a deal in place to sign Fofana on loan for the rest of the season and the move is progressing smoothly.

According to Sky Deutschland, the forward is due to for a medical at Burnley in the coming hours ahead of the move.

The Clarets will put him through his paces at their training base ahead of signing him on loan.

The formalities of the deal are expected to be completed by Saturday and he will soon be wearing a Burnley shirt.

Chelsea signed him from Norwegian side Molde in January last year and his current deal at Stamford Bridge is set to expire at the end of the season.

Fofana will be keen to make an impression in a Burnley side struggling to score goals; they average just a goal a game in the Premier League.
