Ipswich Town are not making big progress in their pursuit of Blackburn Rovers striker Sam Gallagher this month, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
The 28-year-old striker has been on the fringes of the Blackburn squad this season and only returned to league action last weekend for the first time since September.
Blackburn could be prepared to let Gallagher go this month and Ipswich are interested in signing the forward.
Kieran McKenna wants to add a striker to his squad in January and the club are working on a deal to sign Gallagher from Blackburn.
However, it has been claimed that Ipswich have not much headway in their pursuit of the forward.
The talks between the two clubs are ongoing but there has been very little progress made in the negotiations.
Ipswich remain interested in Gallagher but are running out of time to secure a striker in the winter transfer window.
It remains to be seen whether they continue to push to sign Gallagher and shift their focus on other targets in the coming days.
