Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has indicated that he does not know much about Eagles target Daniel Munoz despite the club chasing the Genk right-back this month.

The south London club are in the market for a new right-back for their squad and Munoz has emerged as the top target.

Palace are in talks behind the scenes to secure a deal to take the Genk defender to Selhurst Park in the ongoing winter transfer window.

They are prepared to pursue alternative targets if Genk do not agree to sell the player at a reasonable price but Munoz is a player the club are pushing to sign in January.

However, Hodgson indicated that he does not have the full details of a player that Crystal Palace are trying to sign.

He admitted that whatever little he has seen of Munoz in clips, he believes the defender is a good player but conceded that is the extent of his knowledge about the Colombian.

The Palace boss said in a press conference when asked about Munoz: “I have only seen a video of him, but he looks good.”

Hodgson is unlikely to be at Crystal Palace next season and the club’s recruitment is being driven by the director of football Dougie Freedman and the rest of the hierarchy.
