Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga could link up with the Millwall squad for training on Thursday as he closes in on a loan switch, according to the South London Press.

Tanganga has headed back to Tottenham after a loan spell to forget at Bundesliga side Augsburg during the first half of the season.

He missed the start of Augsburg’s campaign through injury and then failed to force his way into the mix, not playing a single minute for the German club.

Now Tottenham are set to send Tanganga out on loan to Championship side Millwall.

And with the switch progressing quickly, he could be training with Millwall on Thursday.

Landing Tanganga will be a boost for Millwall, who sit 16th in the Championship table and have conceded 34 goals in their 27 matches so far.

Spurs will look to see Tanganga play regular football at Millwall following his disappointing stint in Germany.

Tanganga has clocked a total of 50 outings for Tottenham, but is not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans at the club at present.
