Cardiff City have made a serious push to land Valerenga striker Andrej Ilic in the ongoing winter transfer window.

The Welsh club are sitting 13th in the Championship table but are only three points behind the playoff spots.

They very much remain in contention to break into the promotion playoff spots despite being in the bottom half of the table at the moment.

Erol Bulut is pushing to bring in reinforcements in the winter window and the Cardiff boss wants to get a new striker for his squad this month.

According to Norwegian outlet Nettavisen, Cardiff are pushing hard to try and get their hands on Valerenga striker Ilic.

The Serbian has eleven goals in 16 appearances for the club and only joined them in the last summer transfer window.

However, Valerenga’s relegation to the second tier of Norwegian football means he wants to move on from the club.

Cardiff and Valerenga are locked in talks over the possibility of the Serbian moving to Wales in the ongoing window.

No deal is in place but the two clubs are in negotiations and the player is keen on a transfer.
