Daniel Farke has insisted that he has enough trust in his current Leeds United squad to do the job this season even if the club fail to add new faces before the end of the transfer window.

Leeds cut short the loan of Djed Spence and decided to move on Luke Ayling in the ongoing winter transfer window.

The Whites are in the market for full-backs and are also believed to be considering bringing in another creative midfielder.

Leeds are yet to make progress in deals to bring in new faces to their squad with little less than two weeks left in the window.

However, Farke insisted that he is not concerned and believes other players have stepped up in recent weeks to give him more options.

The Leeds boss said in a press conference: “It’s not a concern. We have a quality group.

“We could do with more numbers in defensive positions. But in the last weeks, there was a chance for other players to step up – like [Junior] Firpo and [Ilia] Gruev.”

He did admit that Leeds are a little short in defence at this stage of the season but stressed that he has enough faith in the squad.

Farke insisted that even if Leeds do not bring in new signings, he is confident that he has a squad to challenge in the latter half of the season.

“I won’t lie.

“A few additions in defensive positions would be helpful. But it has to make sense for us.

“If not, we go with what we’ve got and I trust my group.

“We are in a good position. We didn’t win it in the lottery. We won it with good development.”
