A pursuit of Nottingham Forest full-back Neco Williams is proving to be too expensive for Leeds United at the moment, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Leeds are in the market for full-backs after agreeing to loan out Luke Ayling and cutting short of Djed Spence’s loan at Elland Road in the ongoing window.

Daniel Farke would prefer to sign a full-back but for the moment they are yet to bring him a new signing.

Williams is one of Leeds’ top targets and the club have been working behind the scenes to try and sign the Nottingham Forest defender on loan.

However, they are facing competition from Feyenoord for his signature and it has been claimed that it is a financially complicated deal for Leeds as well.

The Whites are interested in taking the defender to Elland Road but for the moment, the deal is becoming a bit too expensive for the Yorkshire giants.

Leeds have alternatives lined up but for the moment, it is unclear whether they are prepared to end their interest in Williams.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds manage to negotiate a deal for Williams that makes financial sense to them or look at other targets.

It has also been suggested Nottingham Forest are not fully sold on letting Williams go.
