Marseille have discussed the possibility of signing Arsenal loanee Nuno Tavares in the ongoing winter transfer window.

The French giants are in the market for a left-back after Renan Lodi left the club to move to Saudi Arabia this month.

Marseille are considering several players as they seek to bring in a full-back before the end of the transfer window.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Tavares is a player Marseille are considering getting their hands on.

The defender had a loan spell at Marseille last season and impressed during his time in France.

Tavares joined Nottingham Forest on loan from Arsenal last summer but has played very little football at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest are expected to review his loan stay before the end of the transfer window.

Marseille are discussing the possibility of taking him back to the club on another loan deal this month.

He is not part of Arsenal’s plans and the Gunners are prepared to cut short his loan at Nottingham Forest if they can find another club who are willing to take him.
