Newcastle United have knocked back approaches from Bayern Munich for Kieran Trippier, according to the Daily Mail.

Trippier has emerged as Bayern Munich’s top target this month as Thomas Tuchel pushes to bring in a right-back.

The defender was Eddie Howe’s first major signing at Newcastle and has been a massive part of the club’s rejuvenation over the last couple of seasons.

The German champions want him but Newcastle are reluctant to let him move on in the current transfer window.

It has been claimed that Bayern Munich made offers to sign him on both loan and permanent deals this week.

However, Newcastle were quick to reject both approaches and are remain consistent that Trippier will not leave this month.

Eddie Howe does not want to lose a senior player such as the former Spurs man amidst an injury crisis and a run of poor form.

Bayern Munich have reportedly not thrown in the towel in their attempts to sign Trippier and are keen to still try their luck ahead of the end of the window.
