Rangers boss Philippe Clement has admitted that he wants Gers starlet Alex Lowry to go on loan to develop his game with regular football.

The 20-year-old Rangers academy product joined Hearts on a season-long loan and featured 17 times for the Jambos, scoring two goals and registering five assists.

However, Lowry has returned to Ibrox after the termination of his loan deal with Hearts and it is suggested that the player will be sent out on another loan by Rangers.

Clement admitted that Rangers want to send the young midfielder on loan for the rest of the season so that the player can continue his development.

The Rangers boss also stated the club want to provide Lowry with regular game time and they will look into the market to arrange a suitable club for the youngster.

“The clear plan with Alex is we want him on loan to get minutes this season”, Clement said at a press conference.

“We want him to go on loan and get stronger by playing regular games.

“We will see what is the best place for him to go and develop.”

Lowry has 14 senior appearances for Rangers under his belt and has scored twice and assisted twice for the club.
