West Ham are in talks with Brest to discuss a deal to sign 21-year-old left-back Bradley Locko in the winter transfer window.

Locko joined Brest from Reims on loan in January last year before he was signed up on a permanent deal in the summer.

The defender has been impressive since joining Brest and has been attracting the prying eyes of several clubs.

Marseille briefly showed interest in him earlier in the window but he is now being seriously courted by a club across the English Channel.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, West Ham are interested in Locko and are already in discussions with Brest.

The two clubs are holding concrete talks as the Hammers push to sign the defender in the winter window.

He is not in the immediate plans of David Moyes but West Ham are keen to work out a deal for him this month.

The Hammers are planning to send him back to Brest on loan for the rest of the season as part of the arrangement.

It remains to be seen whether West Ham succeed in having a deal in place to sign Locko in the coming week or so.
