Atalanta have knocked back Tottenham Hotspur’s approach for midfielder Ederson, it has been claimed in Italy.

The Brazilian midfielder’s future at Atalanta has come under the microscope this winter due to interest from the Premier League.

Newcastle United have been tracking him but the club are more likely to try and sign the player in the summer.

Tottenham have been deliberating over trying to sign Ederson and approached Atalanta to discuss a potential transfer.

However, according to Italian daily Corriere di Bergamo (via Tutto Mercato), Atalanta have been quick to close the door on Tottenham in their pursuit of Ederson.

The Italian club rejected their approach and made it clear that Ederson will not be sold in the winter window.

Atalanta are clear about not wanting to sell any of their key players in the middle of the season.

The Serie A outfit did not even consider sitting at the negotiating table with Spurs for Ederson.

Atalanta are more likely to evaluate offers for the Brazilian come the summer transfer window.
