Rangers boss Philippe Clement has revealed that the club have sent someone from their coaching department to train with new boy Mohamed Diomande and is hoping that the player will be with the team in a couple of days.

The Gers are keen on strengthening their team in this window to beat Celtic in the title race and 22-year-old Diomande was on the wishlist.

Rangers have managed to secure a deal with FC Nordsjaelland to take Diomande on loan, with an obligation to make the move permanent in the summer.

Clement revealed that Rangers have sent someone from the coaching staff to train with Diomande and keep him up to pace, as the player has not featured in a game since November due to a winter break.

He also stated that he is hoping the midfielder will be at Ibrox in couple of days.

“We hope Diomande will be here in the next couple of days”, Clement said at a press conference.

“We have sent someone out to train with him and he has had a winter break.

“Other players have had more game time recently so we will assess once he is here.”

The Rangers boss added that the club are still in the market to do both short and long-term business and pointed out that they are trying to build a healthy club.

“We are focusing on good business for the club both short and long-term”, he added.

“It is important to build a healthy club and I am one of the pieces in how we do that.”

Rangers will be back in action at the weekend against St. Mirren and they will be hoping to continue their winning momentum on Saturday.
