Lens winger Oscar Cortes is not currently on his way to Glasgow to complete a move to Rangers, but the Gers are keen to snap him up, according to the Rangers Review.

Philippe Clement is continuing his efforts to add to his Rangers squad before the transfer window shuts on Thursday evening.

Lens winger Cortes, a Colombia international, has been strongly linked with a loan move to Ibrox.

It has even been suggested in some quarters that Cortes is currently on his way to Glasgow to put the finishing touches to the temporary switch.

That talk though is wide of the mark and Rangers have not yet finalised a deal to sign the 20-year-old.

They are hoping to do so, but until a deal is in place with Lens, Cortes is not able to travel to Scotland to complete the switch.

The winger only joined the French side last summer, but has found game time difficult to come by.

Cortes has turned out four times in Ligue 1 for Lens this term, scoring once and providing one assist.

He has also turned out for the club’s youth ranks.

It has been claimed that a loan deal for Cortes would also include an option to buy for Rangers to trigger.
