Rangers midfielder Jose Cifuentes is not warming up to the idea of leaving Ibrox to join Turkish side Rizespor, according to journalist Derek Clark.

Philippe Clement is in the process of adding to his squad at Rangers, but he is also prepared to shift players out of the door too.

Midfielder Cifuentes, signed by former Rangers boss Michael Beale, is a player that Clement would like to offload this month.

The midfielder does have interest from Turkey, where Rizespor are interested in him.

However, Cifuentes is not sold on a move to Rizespor and looks unlikely to agree to it.

Cifuentes, 24, has barely featured under Clement and looks set for limited game time if he stays on at Ibrox beyond this month’s transfer window.

Whether the midfielder will have other escape routes offered to him before Thursday’s deadline remains to be seen.

His contract with Rangers is due to run through until the summer of 2027.
