Watford have been in touch with AC Milan to ask about signing defender Marco Pellegrino.

With the clock ticking down on the transfer window, the Hornets want to make additions to bolster their squad for the second half of the season.

Adding a defender is on Watford’s agenda and the club are looking to do their shopping in Italy.

Watford have been in touch with AC Milan about signing Pellegrino, according to Spanish outlet Relevo.

AC Milan are prepared to allow him to leave on a loan deal, but without including any option to buy.

Watford are not alone in their admiration of the Argentine defender as Spanish side Racing Santander have also been in touch about signing him.

Racing Santander currently sit in 12th spot in the Spanish second tier.

Argentine defender Pellegrino only joined AC Milan last summer and put pen to paper to a five-year deal.
