Oxford United are on the cusp of signing Blackpool winger Owen Dale in a late window move for what is dubbed a “bargain fee”, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Dale has been in and out of the Blackpool team this season and has only ten starts in League One to his name.

In a late decision, Blackpool are prepared to let the winger go with the player in the last six months of his contract.

Seeing the opportunity to sign an experienced League One campaigner, Oxford have stepped in to get a deal over the line.

They have reached an agreement over a bargain fee with Blackpool for the signature of the player.

Dale is now on his way to Oxford after making 47 appearances for Blackpool in all competitions.

Oxford will look to put him through a medical and get all the paperwork sorted out before Thursday’s deadline.

They are hopeful that Dale will play a key role as they chase promotion to the Championship in the second half of the season.
