Southampton are pushing hard in negotiations to get as much as possible in terms of a loan fee from Juventus for the impending departure of Carlos Alcaraz, according to the Sun.

A broad agreement is in place between Southampton and Juventus for the midfielder to move to Italy ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

A loan deal with an option to buy has been agreed upon between the two clubs with the overall package set at around £40m.

Alcaraz is scheduled to undergo a medical in London today ahead of flying out to Turin but the final deal is still being negotiated.

It has been claimed that Southampton are trying to extract as much of the total package as possible from Juventus up front.

Saints are trying to negotiate a high loan fee so that they get paid a large chunk of the £40m now.

The two clubs are hopeful of wrapping up the final deal soon, as Alcaraz gets put through his paces by Juventus in London.

The Italian giants have been in the market for midfield reinforcements and are hopeful that Alcaraz will be their player by the time the window closes tomorrow.
