Bristol City have agreed a deal with Derby County to sign midfielder Max Bird on a permanent deal, though they will immediately send the player back on loan to Pride Park, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Bird has caught the attention of clubs in the higher division with his performances in the third tier of English football.

And Bird has been repeatedly linked with an exit from Derby this month.

So far, Hull City and Birmingham City have been the two major clubs on the heels of the player.

But in the last few hours yet another Championship club Bristol City have joined in and have stolen the march over their rivals.

In fact, Bristol City have agreed a deal with Derby County for the transfer of the player.

The player will join the Robins on a permanent move but will move back on loan for the rest of the season.

It now remains to be seen how quickly Bristol City can wrap up a deal for the midfielder.
