Leeds United winger Ian Poveda’s potential move to Sheffield Wednesday could be a loan deal, according to The Star.

Poveda has reached Sheffield as the Owls look to force through a move to sign him from Leeds on deadline day.

Birmingham City were also in the race but Wednesday are the ones who are close to getting a deal over the line.

With only six months left on his contract, Poveda’s move to Wednesday was believed to be a permanent one.

However, it has been claimed that the winger’s move to Hillsborough could only be a loan move for now.

Negotiations are still ongoing between the two clubs but a permanent transfer could be unlikely.

A loan move is likely to be the more realistic option for Poveda as the clock ticks down on the transfer window.

Even a loan exit would end his time at Leeds as his current deal with the Whites expire at the end of the season.
