Sheffield United midfielder Ismaila Coulibaly is on his way to Sweden where AIK are keen on signing him, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The 23-year-old has been on the fringes of the Premier League club and is yet to play in the Premier League this season.

Chris Wilder has not given him any assurances going forward and he is now being sent out on loan.

AIK are keen on having the Mali international in their ranks, giving the midfielder a chance to restart his career.

He is close to moving out of Bramall Lane in the coming hours and traveling to Sweden to finalise his departure.

Wilder is looking to reshuffle his pack as the Blades look to keep their top-flight status at the end of the season.

The move would be Coulibaly’s second spell away from his parent club with the last one being at Belgian side Beerschot.

It remains to be seen whether the Swedish side manage to insert an option to buy into Coulibaly’s loan contract.
