Iwan Roberts has warned Norwich City’s players that Coventry City are side with an incredible work ethic and will not go to Carrow Road to sit back.

Norwich are tenth in the Championship table, only three points behind the last playoff place held by Coventry.

Mark Robins’ side have recovered from their poor start to the season to get themselves back in the promotion mix and on Saturday, David Wagner’s Norwich are set to welcome the Sky Blues to Carrow Road.

Roberts pointed out that Coventry are a hard-working side with physicality and pace and warned that Robins’ side like to press their opponents in packs.

The ex-Norwich star also believes that Coventry will not come to Carrow Road with the intention of defending deep, rather, he thinks they will take on the Canaries.

“Coventry have got an energy about them”, Roberts wrote in his Eastern Daily Press column.

“They work their absolute socks off.

“They close down, they hunt in packs, they’re pacey, they’re physically strong. I think they’re a really good side.

“I don’t think Robbo will prepare them to come to Norwich and do what eight out of 10 teams do – defend deep, get men behind the ball, camp in our own half and see if we can frustrate them.

“They will come and have a go – that’s the way his teams play.”

Norwich are unbeaten against Coventry in their last nine competitive meetings and Wagner’s side will be determined to keep that record going.
