Alex Mathie is of the opinion that Ipswich Town have managed to ease the pressure on Ali Al-Hamadi by signing Kieffer Moore in the January window.
Ipswich went into the winter transfer window with the goal of strengthening their attacking department.
The Tractor Boys signed Al-Hamadi from AFC Wimbledon first and later managed to secure a loan deal for Moore on deadline day.
Mathie stated that he likes the signing of Moore from Bournemouth because the experienced striker will take the pressure off young Al-Hamadi.
The ex-Blues star also pointed out that Moore has a lot of experience under his belt and he thinks that the Wales international will be under no pressure because of his understanding of the game.
“I like the signing of Moore because it takes pressure off Al-Hamadi a little bit”, Mathie said on BBC Radio Suffolk.
“He has a lot more experience at international [level]; he knows what the game is about.
“He has been to a few clubs, so there is no pressure on him at all and he scored two goals.”
At the weekend, Moore scored twice against Preston North End, coming on as a substitute in the second half, but he failed to help Ipswich win the game.
