Former Norwich City star Cedric Anselin has stated that although the Canaries are not playing a beautiful brand of football, they are still a hard team to beat, which he believes is what is needed now.

At the weekend, David Wagner’s side managed to end Coventry City’s nine-match unbeaten run in the league by securing a 2-1 victory.

Norwich have lost only one out of the last five league games and they are now just one point adrift of the last playoff spot.

Anselin believes that during Norwich’s bad patch of form, Wagner talked with his staff and senior players to get a good understanding of his team.

And the ex-Norwich star pointed out that they are doing all the things that are required to be done at this point in the season despite not playing beautiful, eye-catching football.

When asked about how Wagner turned Norwich’s form around, Anselin said on BBC Radio Norfolk: “I think he sat down with his staff and senior players and listened to everybody what they had to say and acknowledged them all.

“If you look at us the way we play, we are not beautiful on the eye, but we are hard to beat.

“I think that what the game requires at this time of the season is that we are hard to beat, and we score goals when we are clinical at the right time.”

Norwich are set to take on Queen Park Rangers at the weekend and it remains to be seen whether Wagner’s men will be able to continue their good form at the weekend.
