Tottenham Hotspur were also tracking Brighton-bound winger Ibrahim Osman with a view to signing him in the summer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The 19-year-old winger is on the cusp of joining Brighton with a deal agreed for him to move at the end of the season.

The Seagulls have a deal in place with FC Nordsjaelland for the signature of the winger for a deal worth €19.5m.

They are also committed to paying €3m in add-ons and Osman has already undergone a medical ahead of the transfer.

Brighton moved swiftly because they were wary of other clubs joining the chase for him in the summer.

It has been claimed that Tottenham were also among the clubs tracking Osman ahead of the end of the season.

The north London club were primed to get involved in the chase for the winger in the summer.

West Ham were also expected to revive their interest in the player after failing to sign him in January.

Monaco, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bologna also had their eyes on him but Osman will now join Brighton in the summer.

It remains to be seen if Tottenham come to regret missing out on Osman.
