Former Birmingham City manager John Eustace is in the running for the Blackburn Rovers job and could be interested if he is offered the role, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Jon Dahl Tomasson is set to part ways with Blackburn and it is expected to be confirmed later today.

Blackburn are without a win in eight league games and have tumbled down to 18th in the Championship table over the last month or so.

The club are set to start the process of trying to find a new manager and there are already names in the hat.

It has been claimed that Eustace is in the frame to potentially become the next manager at Ewood Park.

For many, he was unfairly sacked by Birmingham City earlier in the season and still retains a lot of goodwill.

It has been suggested that he is likely to be interested in the Blackburn move if he is offered the job.

Blackburn are likely to interview several candidates over the course of the coming days before settling on a name.
