Juventus are unlikely to pay the full buy option figure to Southampton for Carlos Alcaraz even if they decide to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Juventus paid a loan fee of €3.7m to the Saints with the potential add-ons of another €1.9m as part of the agreement for Alcaraz in the winter window.

They also secured an option to buy the midfielder on a permanent transfer in the summer for a fee of €49.5m.

Southampton are hopeful of turning a huge profit on a player they signed for a little over €14m in January last year.

However, according to Italian outlet TuttoJuve, the Serie A giants are not in any mood to fork out nearly €50m for Alcaraz at the end of the season.

Juventus will rate his performances over the course of the next few months before making a decision on him.

Nevertheless, even if they decided to try and sign him on a permanent deal, Juventus have a different price in mind.

The Bianconeri are looking at somewhere around €30m to secure the permanent transfer of Alcaraz in the summer.

Juventus could also offer a player to Southampton as part of a deal for the midfielder’s permanent move.
