Blackburn Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson is making a financial sacrifice to leave the Ewood Park outfit, according to the Daily Mail.

The Riversiders are struggling this season and they are 17th in the league table, only five points clear of the relegation zone.

It has been suggested that Tomasson was unhappy with the Blackburn hierarchy’s decision to cut the budget in the summer.

Tomasson was also keen on bringing in a striker in the winter transfer window, but Blackburn’s failure to complete a deal for Duncan McGuire on time to register him made the Danish tactician further unhappy.

The Dane is now departing Blackburn after talks resulted in the club accepting his resignation.

And Tomasson will make a substantial financial sacrifice to leave Blackburn.

The Dane is keen to go and is giving up cash that he could have got in order to exit Ewood Park.

The Riversiders are due to host Stoke City on Saturday and it remains to be seen whether Blackburn will be able to sort out their managerial situation before the game.
