Lincoln City boss Michael Skubala has revealed that his side have inside information on Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones’ methods from his former assistant Chris Cohen.

Charlton have appointed Jones as their new manager and he suffered a 2-0 defeat in his first game in charge against Reading at the weekend.

The Addicks are in a relegation battle and Jones will be keen to register a victory as Charlton boss against Lincoln on Tuesday.

Skubala revealed that Cohen, who worked with Jones during his time at Luton Town and Southampton, has provided Lincoln with inside information on the Charlton manager’s tactics.

The Imps boss admitted that Jones still retains the element of surprise as Tuesday’s game will mark his second game as Addicks boss, but stressed that they have an idea of what Charlton might do against them.

“I think the good thing is we have a little bit of inside information from Chris Cohen, who has worked with Nathan for a few years, so there is a little bit of understanding of what he might do. But again, it is a new role for him”, Skubala told Lincoln’s media.

“It is a new group of players, so you are always trying to guess.

“I think, to some degree, they have the upper hand of surprise on us if they do something different, but we have obviously watched the game from Reading already, and they were competitive in that game and I think we know what they are going to do.”

Charlton are only clear of the relegation zone on goal difference and it remains to be seen whether Jones will be able to keep them up in League One.
