Chelsea have made no progress in talks over new deal for Tottenham Hotspur midfield target Conor Gallagher, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been one of Chelsea’s best players this season and is a favourite of Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The Chelsea manager termed him priceless following his side’s win over Crystal Palace on Monday night but the club could lose him in the summer.

Gallagher will enter the final year of his contract at Chelsea at the end of the season and he is yet to be offered a new contract.

Talks have taken place between Chelsea and his representatives but no progress has been made in negotiations.

Chelsea have been reluctant to hand him a new deal while they were more than happy to offer new contracts to Reece James and Levi Colwill last year.

The midfielder wants to stay at Chelsea and rejected moves to Everton and West Ham in previous windows.

However, he wants a new deal in line with his importance and for the moment, there is no certainty that he will sign a new contract.

Tottenham have been long-term admirers of Gallagher and Ange Postecoglou believes he fits his style perfectly.

The north London club will make a move for him in the summer if he does not sign a new contract with Chelsea by then.
