Barcelona are banking on the will of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana to give them the edge in the chase to sign him this summer.

Onana is expected to leave Everton in the summer with a plethora of clubs chasing him ahead of the end of the season.

The Belgian has been a big target for Barcelona and the club have been monitoring him for several months.

However, they are facing massive competition from clubs in the Premier League where Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle are chasing him.

Barcelona have financial problems and according to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, they are banking on the player’s will.

The Catalan giants are aware that they cannot compete financially with clubs in the Premier League.

They are hopeful that Onana will want to join Barcelona over his other suitors in the Premier League.

Barcelona do not want to spend more than €40m in transfer fees in their pursuit of the Everton midfielder.

It is nowhere close to the asking price Everton are likely to demand for Onana in the summer.
