Chris Sutton has told Michael Beale he may go down as both Rangers and Sunderland’s worst ever manager in the same season.

Beale started the campaign as the manager at Rangers, having been well backed with new signings in the summer transfer window.

He presided over poor performances and poor results at Ibrox though and was sacked by the club.

Sunderland then sacked Tony Mowbray and brought in Beale as the man to lead them up to the Premier League.

However, Beale failed to convince at the Stadium of Light and has been sacked by Sunderland; he was in charge for only 12 games.

Sutton thinks that Beale has been so bad he may even be classed as each side’s worst manager.

He wrote on X: “Sorry to see Mick Beale go.

“He may go down as Sunderland’s and Rangers worst ever manager and all in the same season…”

All eyes will be on where Beale returns to management, with his dismal stints at Rangers and Sunderland likely to have done his standing no favours.
