Trabzonspor have taken ‘action’  to ensure that they keep hold of Paul Onuachu, with talks with Southampton set to happen.

Southampton signed Onuachu from KRC Genk in the winter of 2023 to help them avoid relegation from the Premier League.

However, the centre forward failed to score a goal for the Saints and following their relegation, Southampton agreed to let Onuachu join Trabzonspor on a season-long loan.

The 29-year-old forward has been in excellent form for the Turkish outfit, scoring nine goals while registering three assists in 16 games.

Trabzonspor manager Abdullah Avci is impressed with the Southampton loanee’s performances and wants to keep him at Trabzonspor.

According to Turkish outlet Star, Trabzonspor have taken action to start the ball rolling on a bid to keep Onuachu.

Trabzonspor will sit down with Southampton and look to agree a transfer fee for Onuachu.

However, if they fail then they will look to agree a fresh loan deal with Southampton.

Onuachu is also happy at Trabzonspor and it remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future for the centre forward.
