Millwall are considering Cambridge United boss Neil Harris as a replacement for Joe Edwards if he fails to turn the situation around for the Lions, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Millwall hierarchy appointed Edwards in November after surprisingly parting ways with Gary Rowett.

However, Edwards has failed to improve Millwall’s form and they are winless in their last seven league games.

Millwall are currently in 21st position in the league table with 33 points from 33 games and are just one point clear of the relegation zone.

It has been claimed that Millwall are considering Cambridge United boss Harris as an option in the event of Edwards failing to improve the Lions form.

Harris took charge of Cambridge in December and under him, the League One outfit are currently sitting in 17th place.

The 46-year-old has previous managerial experience at Millwall and is regarded as the right candidate by club officials to succeed Edwards if necessary.

Millwall are set to take on Southampton at the weekend and all eyes will be on Edwards to see whether he can turn around Millwall’s form.
