Mick Mills has admitted that his former team Ipswich Town were absolutely bullied by Rotherham United on Tuesday night despite winning 4-3 at Portman Road.

Omari Hutchinson scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time to win all three points for Kieran McKenna’s men at home on Tuesday night.

Ipswich moved level on points with second-placed Leeds United and are only below the Whites due to an inferior goal difference.

However, it was an extremely tough night for Ipswich as they were made to toil hard for the three points by the bottom-placed team in the Championship at Portman Road.

Mills believes Rotherham are an outlier in the Championship due to their style of football and Ipswich found it hard to deal with them.

He conceded that the home side were more or less bullied by the Yorkshire side and it was a tough evening for McKenna’s men.

The Ipswich legend said on BBC Radio Suffolk: “I don’t think we are going to see any other team like Rotherham again this season.

“Generally speaking, whenever I have watched the teams in this division, they have nearly all been coached to play the Kieran McKenna way and it suits us.

“Tonight, we came up against, in my days, a Wimbledon system – just literally route one and work and put the opposition under extreme pressure.

“They bullied us like Wimbledon used to bully people in the 70s and 80s and that’s what it was like.

“We found it hard, we really did.”

Ipswich will again play at home on Saturday when they host Birmingham City at Portman Road.
