David Moyes has insisted that he is the one who is waiting until the end of the season before penning a new contract with West Ham United.
The Scottish boss is out of contract at the London Stadium in the summer and there have been conflicting claims over a new deal.
It has been suggested that West Ham’s poor run of form has led to the club pausing talks on a fresh contract to assess the situation.
Moyes though has dismissed those thoughts and is clear that there is a contract on the table for him to sign, based on the conversations he has had with club powerbrokers.
However, the West Ham boss is not rushing to sign it and insists it is his call to wait until the end of the season.
“I’ve had really good conversations with the owners, with David Sullivan and Karren Brady”, Moyes told a press conference.
“There’s a contract there for me and I’m the one deciding I want to wait until the end of the season.”
Moyes has delivered a major trophy, in the shape of the Europa Conference League, to West Ham during his time at the club, while the Hammers are again bidding to qualify for Europe this term.
Some fans though are unhappy with the style of play Moyes has employed.
