Brighton out on loan striker Deniz Undav has revealed that he has not been contacted by Germany national team boss Julian Nagelsmann.

The 27-year-old centre forward joined VfB Stuttgart on loan from Brighton last summer and he is in incredible form for the German outfit.

Undav has scored 14 times in 19 league games this season and there have been suggestions he could be in the mix for a call-up by Nagelsmann.

The Germany team are set to face France and the Netherlands during the international break in March and Undav revealed that Nagelsmann has not made any contact with him.

When asked how many times he has been in touch with Nagelsmann, Undav said via German outlet Spox: “Exactly zero times.”

Undav has yet to give up hope on a national team call-up, the Brighton star pointed out that there are still three weeks left before the international break.

“There are still three weeks until the international break”, he added.

Undav was absent in Stuttgart’s last game against Koln on Saturday due to an injury and the Seagulls star will hope to come back fit before the international break.

If Undav does shine on the international stage, that could further boost his reputation and be a boost for Brighton if Stuttgart do not trigger the €20m clause to sign him permanently.
