VfB Stuttgart are yet to agree on a contract with Brighton loanee Deniz Undav and are facing a challenge in meeting his salary demands.

The 27-year-old striker joined Stuttgart on loan from Brighton last summer and has scored 14 times in 20 Bundesliga appearances.

Stuttgart have an option to turn the loan into a permanent deal for a fee of €18m and the German club are keen to keep Undav.

However, it has been claimed that Stuttgart have a few obstacles to overcome before a deal could be over the line.

According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland (via Fussball Transfers), Undav wants a considerable salary increase on his current deal.

A good season in Germany means that the forward wants his contract to reflect his performances.

For the moment, a contract has not been agreed upon between the striker and Stuttgart ahead of next summer.

The German club are pushing to get a deal over the line but could have to pay a bit more to Undav to sign him on a permanent contract.
