Former Celtic star Simon Donnelly has admitted that it has taken some time, but he thinks Nicolas Kuhn is finally showing his quality.

Celtic signed Kuhn in the winter transfer window from Rapid Vienna, but he struggled in his first few weeks at Parkhead and did come in for criticism.

He was a positive in Celtic’s 4-2 Scottish Cup win over Livingston earlier this month and was electric in their victory over St. Johnstone last weekend.

The German scored and assisted a goal each and showed the quality that made Celtic sign him in the winter transfer window.

Donnelly admitted that Kuhn looked a bit out of sorts at the start but thinks he is finally looking at home in Celtic colours.

The former Bhoy insisted that it is not unnatural for some players to need some time to adapt at a new club.

Donnelly said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard: “Kuhn has come to Celtic and possibly found it a little bit challenging at the start to make an impact.

“I know he scored up at Pittodrie, but hasn’t really been a positive up until the Livingston game.

“He built on that at the weekend and looked really sharp.

“Maybe it just takes certain players a little bit longer to bed in.”

Kuhn will look to come back from the international break and get more opportunities to impress for Celtic to confirm he can make an impact at the Bhoys.
