Nottingham Forest on loan defender Scott McKenna has taken full responsibility for FC Copenhagen conceding the first goal against FC Nordsjaelland.

FC Copenhagen were playing their second post-split game in the Danish Superliga on Saturday and visited Nordsjaelland.

They came away with a 2-1 loss, conceding first in the 22nd minute as Ibrahim Osman got in at the near post to poke the ball into the back of the net following a set piece.

McKenna was the man tasked with defending that area and he admits he came up short as he did not react to the danger quickly enough.

“I didn’t react quickly enough”, the Forest defender told Discovery+.

“It really is that simple.”

FC Copenhagen remain third in the Danish Superliga Championship round, but have ground to make up on top two Brondby and FC Midtjylland.

McKenna, who joined Nottingham Forest in 2020 from Scottish side Aberdeen, fell out of favour at the City Ground this season.

The defender made five appearances in the Premier League this term before heading to Denmark for regular game time at FC Copenhagen.
