West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta’s potential move to Manchester City in the summer is still dependent on the player being cleared of any betting charges and the reigning Premier League champions selling a few players, according to The Athletic.
Manchester City paused their pursuit of the West Ham star last summer after it emerged that he was under investigation for gambling charges.
Paqueta has continued to impress at West Ham and Manchester City have not ended their interest in signing him.
He is actively pushing for a transfer to Manchester City this summer and the club are keen to take him to the Etihad ahead of next season.
However, a move is dependent on a positive outcome from gambling investigations the Hammers midfielder is under.
The transfer is also likely to hinge on Manchester City shifting a few players out as well in the summer transfer window.
West Ham resisted selling him last summer but a £85m release clause will come into effect in his contract in June.
If Manchester City decide to make a move for him and pay the clause, West Ham have no option but to let him go.
