Julen Lopetegui has accepted a proposal from West Ham United to become their new manager for next season, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Hammers are parting ways with David Moyes at the end of the campaign when his deal runs out.
The Premier League side have been assessing several options and held a meeting with Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim recently.
Former Wolves boss Lopetegui was favoured by Hammers supremo David Sullivan though and the club made him an offer.
Lopetegui has now decided to accept West Ham’s proposal.
The details are then being finalised and then Lopetegui will put pen to paper to a contract to take over at West Ham.
It had been claimed that the Spaniard’s arrival could be finalised this week.
Lopetegui has been looking to return to management in the Premier League since leaving Wolves and will now get his wish at West Ham.
