Bayern Munich are considering promoting Sunderland managerial target Rene Maric to the first-team coaching staff this summer.


The 31-year-old has done well with the Bayern Munich reserve and youth teams and has earned credit with the club hierarchy.


His performances have also turned heads at Sunderland who are looking to bring in a new manager this summer.



Maric is being considered as a serious candidate by Sunderland but Bayern Munich are keen to hold on to the young coach.


According to Munich-based daily the Tageszeitung, the German giants are considering offering Maric a promotion.



They are keen to promote the young coach to their first-team set-up ahead of the new season.


Bayern Munich are working towards getting a deal done to appoint Vincent Kompany as their new manager.



The Bavarians are also considering adding Maric to the new manager’s first-team coaching staff this summer.


However, there is still no clarity on whether Maric wants to stay at Bayern Munich amidst offers to start his career in management.
