Aston Villa do not expect Phillippe Coutinho to return to the club after his loan spell at Al-Duhail, with interest arriving from clubs in Brazil, according to the Athletic.

Coutinho is currently plying his trade in Qatar where he has played in a total of 21 games making nine goal contributions.

However, he is nearing the end of his loan spell at the Qatari club and is set to return to Villa Park at the end of next month.

But that may not be the case as Aston Villa do not expect him to return to Villa Park.

Coutinho is in demand in his native Brazil, but it is unclear what financial deal Aston Villa might expect to be able to bring in.

The Brazilian is on big wages at Villa Park and offloading him would be a boost for Unai Emery.

Coutinho still has a contract with the Villans running until the summer of 2026.

He featured in 22 games overall for Aston Villa over the course of the 2022/23 season before being sent out on loan.
