People inside Burnley have been left enraged at the way Vincent Kompany has been engineering his move to Bayern Munich, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Kompany has reached a verbal agreement to become the next Bayern Munich manager and is waiting for the German giants to work out a compensation deal with Burnley.

Alan Pace, the Burnley owner, has been in talks with Bayern Munich and has demanded a €20m compensation package.

The Bavarians are confident of negotiating the price down but Burnley are claimed to be taking a hardline stance.

People inside Burnley are said to feel betrayed at the way in which the situation has unfolded.

They are unhappy at the manner Kompany has been trying to engineer his exit from Turf Moor.

It has led to Burnley toughening their position and they do not want to provide any concessions to Bayern Munich.

The German giants are confident that a deal will eventually get agreed upon for a fee of around €15m.

Burnley invested in Kompany after he failed at Anderlecht and he got them promoted to the Premier League last year.

However, the Clarets never looked like surviving in the Premier League this season despite spending heavily last summer.
